A candy cart is part dessert table, part decoration. Set up well, it is where guests gather and where a lot of the event photos get taken.
Start with the layout
Use the counter for what guests reach for: jars, dispensers and trays at a comfortable height. Keep the lower shelf for backup stock and larger platters, so you can refill without carrying boxes across the room. If your cart has a cake stand, put the centerpiece there.
Pick a color story
Choose two or three colors that match the invitations or flowers, and pick candy and wrappers in those colors. A white cart lets the candy and flowers lead. A wood-look cart suits rustic, barn and garden styling.
Dress it
- Flowers or greenery along the canopy or at one corner.
- A small sign with the couple's names, the birthday child or the event date.
- Scoops, tongs and small bags or boxes so guests can serve themselves.
Placement
Put the cart where people pass but do not queue for something else, away from the bar line and the entrance. Check the light at the time of the event, since the cart will be in photos.
Weight and setup
Do not overload the cart. Our Large Vintage Candy Cart holds up to 120 pounds. Set the cart up in place, then load it, since a full cart is harder to move.
ZETY candy carts are molded PVC with wheels and a wipe-clean surface, which helps when the same cart is used event after event. See them in our candy cart collection.
