Matte black slat panels for a half-wall that looks deliberate rather than decorated. Four panels run 96 inches wide, and the two included top molding pieces finish the top edge cleanly — no trim carpentry required.

Black is the finish that changes a room fastest. At wainscot height it anchors the lower wall and lets whatever sits above — white, clay, deep green — read brighter by contrast, which is why it turns up in media rooms, studios and offices as often as bedrooms. The vertical slat face also helps reduce echo and absorb unwanted noise, so a hard-surfaced room sounds less live.
